Homeowner Grants

Government grants are available for the installation of renewable energy solutions and energy conservation measures for domestic premises. This is part of the governments Low Carbon Building Programme initiative administered by the BERR (Department of Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform). Details of maximum grants for each are given below;

- Ground Source Heat pumps - £1,200
- Air Source Heat Pumps - £900
- Solar Heating - £400
- Solar PV - £2,500 (Expired 3rd Feb 2010)
- Wind Turbines - £2,500 (Expiring end March 2010)
- Biomass - £2,500

When considering a grant application the following must be considered:-

- These grants are for domestic premises
- Maximum homeowner grant per property is £2,500
- The installer and equipment must be MCS* approved
- The grants are time bound and do expire
- The client (end user) must apply for the grant
- There are maximum grants for buildings
