Microgeneration feed in tariffs announcedMonday 01 Feb 2010**STOP PRESS** New feed-in tariff rates announced. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have today announced that households and communities who install generating technologies such as small wind turbines and solar photovoltaic panels will from the April 1st 2010 be entitled to claim as much as 41.3p/kWh for the low carbon electricity they generate. This is a 13% increase on pre-released figures and mean as much as a 10% return on investment and typically 8-9 years payback for those whom invest.
The tariffs are also "Retail Price Index (RPI) linked", tax free and guaranteed for 25 years.
A quick summary of the confirmed feed-in tariff (FIT) rates are as follows:
PV 0 - 4kWp (existing properties) = 36.1p
PV 0 - 4kWp (new properties) = 41.3p
PV 4 - 10kW = 36.1p
Wind <1.5kW = 34.5p
Wind 1.5kW - 15kW = 26.7p
In addition the DECC has proposed rates for the new heat incentive scheme under which people generating heat from renewable sources (i.e. heat pumps, combined heat and power, etc) with also benefit from government money. It is likely these tariffs and the heat incentive scheme will be implemented in April 2011.

Sunday Times PV insertThursday 10 Dec 2009Look out for our up and coming Photovoltaic (PV) ad in this weeks's national Sunday Times (13th December).
"A bright investment, that won't cost the Earth with a government grant to get you started and guaranteed fixed payments for 25 years!"
To celebrate the Copenhagen Climate Conference RenEnergy are offering Sunday Times readers in the Guildford and Norwich areas the opportunity to learn more about using PV to generate electricity, make use of grants which will expire in March 2010 and substantially reduce you current annual household electricity bills.
Initially there will be an ad placed in the Sunday Times and then at the end of the summit on the 20th December a separate colour insert will be available in the Norwich and Hampshire areas.
