RenEnergy PV Products

RenEnergy use the highest quality PV products from around the world that will deliver maximum efficiencies but also stand the test of time. PV is a long term investment and we only select suppliers with a long history in the industry so that we can be sure that they will be around to honour their warranties and guarantees.

PV Cell Technology

There are over 500 PV panel manufacturers in the world today. PV panels are made using various materials the most important being crystalline silicon. There are four main types of PV cell on the market

Monocrystalline Silicon PV

Is made up of a single silicon crystal and is considered ‘purer’ than polycrystalline or amorphous silicon PV, it is generally more efficient and therefore more expensive than the other two.

Polycrystalline Silicon PV

Is made up of a number of smaller silicon crystals which are usually cut to form a wafer, it is less pure than monocrystalline silicon but it is still effective and generally cheaper than mono.

Amorphous Silicon PV

Also known as ‘thin film’ amorphous silicon is made by depositing a thin layer of silicon onto another material such as glass. It is much cheaper than mono or poly crystalline silicon because less raw material is required to produce it however this also means that is less efficient so you need a large surface area to maximise the output.

Hybrid PV

Hybrid PV panels use different types of technology. The hybrid panels that RenEnergy supply are made by Sanyo and consist of a monocrystalline PV cell covered by an ultra-thin layer of amorphous silicon. Hybrid panels are far more efficient than other panels because they perform well in low light conditions but this also makes this the most costly technology.

When choosing a module make sure it has international product certification in place. Think about how much space you have, if you don’t have much space you will need a more efficient panel.

Panel Suppliers

Our list of suppliers is not set in stone - we update our portfolio regularly to keep up with developments in the industry. This is a selection of our current suppliers - if you can't see a supplier on this list who you would like to use that doesn’t mean we can’t work with them.
