RenEnergy’s groundbreaking research reveals that UK businesses are sitting on a largely untapped energy goldmine: their car parks. By installing solar carports, businesses can achieve energy independence and also significantly reduce their carbon footprint. With over half a million parking spaces already identified as suitable (and more to follow as the research continues), the potential to generate enough renewable energy to power hundreds of thousands of homes is within reach.

We expect that hundreds of thousands more will be found as we continue its research across colleges, universities and sports stadiums. The project is set to uncover more across the entire UK and other commercial car parks such as train stations, service stations, supermarkets and retail parks.

Nissan and Marubeni’s commitment to innovation and the environment

RenEnergy took part in a “new future” energy project that explored how UK businesses could leverage advanced electric vehicle (EV) charging capabilities. As part of our ongoing quest for innovative solutions and our commitment to supporting the UK’s effort to increase EV adoption, RenEnergy joined a selection of market-leading companies on a Proof of Concept (PoC) with Japanese conglomerate Marubeni Corporation and Nissan Cars.
